Happy July 4th! We spent the day in Philadelphia, the nation's first capitol. On the way there we passed though Delaware. One surprise in Philadelphia was free samples of the new M&M ice cream were given out. We saw Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Benjamin Franklin's grave. Then it was another long drive, this time to Elizabeth, New Jersey. (near Newark) However, the motel was awful. The room itself was not bad, but the area was terrible. There was noise throughout the night, it was a dangerous neighborhood, and some of the other guest were very suspicious individuals. Needless to say, we were glad to get out of there.
